Proper installation or installation of doors, windows, facades and other structures is the most important factor for their long and excellent service. Of course, it would be best if you entrusted these works to professional window fitters. But, if for some reason this is not possible, the information below will help you.

(This information is about PVC windows and doors, aluminum and wooden structures are more difficult to install, professional work is required).

Dismantling

• It is necessary to free the room near the window that will be dismantled (so that you can freely work with tools and insert the window into the opening), remove the curtains / blinds.
• It is advisable to cover the floor, furniture and other things that are in the room with a film (because the process is not sterile and dust is guaranteed during dismantling).
• Remove the plaster around the inner perimeter of the old frame (if wallpaper is pasted on the wall, cut it vertically 5 cm from the hole, because the plaster of the hole, when dismantling the window, may crack and fall off).
• Select old window sashes.
• Remove the outer tin window sill because it is usually nailed to the old wood frame.
• Saw the old box and break it into the inside of the room.
• Remove the inner sill (usually the plaster breaks off around the ends of the sills that are fixed in and under the wall).
• Clean and dry the dismantled window opening.

Mounting

• Usually, PVC windows and doors are divided into parts before installation, so that installation is easier and more convenient.
• We attach the brackets or, if the installation needs to be done without them, drill holes for the dowels (the brackets are attached about 10 cm from the corners of the vertical box section, but if the window is high, then in increments of 30 - 40 cm also on the sides of the frame and in the upper part) .
• Dip the window into the empty hole, line it up and secure it.
• Isolate the frame with building foam (if necessary, with special tape).
• Glaze the PVC window, mount the sashes in their places

Installation of window sills

• Cut and install the outer window sill (do not forget to insulate the joints with the wall with mastic (silicone, putty).
• File and insert the inner window sill (on brackets or wooden blocks). 

Window adjustment

• Adjust the opening sections of the window.
